Here's a quick list of inexpensive ideas for one of my favorite nights of the month: DATE NIGHT! And remember, date nights don't necessarily have to take place at night when it's dark...
#1 Great one for this time of year: Take a trip to your local pumpkin patch or family farm. Pick out pumpkins and some mums to decorate the front of your home. Special extra credit if you take a hay ride with some hot chocolate!
#2 Each of you take one five dollar bill and go to the nearest dollar store. Then, separately cruise the aisles looking for gifts for each other. Meet back in the car, where you can exchange gifts (and some smooches!)
#3 Visit a home improvement store. Look through the design books and plan your dream home together. Stroll the aisles and pick out decor. Don't forget to browse through the tool department to look at the tools you'll need!
#4 Grab a cup of your favorite coffee beverage and browse through the travel section of your local bookstore. Plan your ultimate dream vacation!
#5 (HEAT ADVISORY!) Mix 1 egg yolk, 1/2 tsp. water, and a drop or two of food coloring. Paint each other and create temporary tattoos! Paint them in places only you and your spouse would ever see them!
Date night does not have to be expensive and it most definitely does not have to be the "same old-same old." Get creative! Enjoy each other! Most importantly: HAVE FUN!
